Flower Bed

One of the first things I did when I retired was I made and planted a flower bed. It wasn't such a good year to do that what with all the hot weather, but it finally filled in these last few weeks.

Grocery Bag

Lari and I went to the Sedgwick City Wide Garage Sale earlier this year and she found me a piece of heavy material for $1.00. I found out later it's some type of canvas. I tried washing it because it had some spots on it and it didn't wash well, but it's cleaner. I draped it over my ironing board to dry. It's very stiff, but perfect for grocery bags. I measured the bags I had purchased at Dillons and used that as my pattern. This particular bag is a big smaller than the Dillons bags as there was a seperate piece of fabric with the stuff I purchased and just made a bag to fit just using that one piece.
This is my prototype. The rest will probably be sewen with black thread and black handles. Got 3 cut out so I gotta go get busy.

Bargellow table runner I made for Ruth for Christmas. We took to the Richmond Fair in July and I got a red ribbon.

Soory it's sideways. Not sure how to turn it upright. This picture only shows not quite half of the table runner.

Pete, my constant companion

He turned 13 this past April.

Went to vist a friend and we made purses. July 2011

This is my first bow tuck purse.

This is my first tulip purse. I used breast cancer fabric for the lining on this one.

jelly roll quilt

My friends Lari, Monica and I spent last Friday making jelly roll quilts. We used the same fabrics, but all are so different. In case you don't know what a jelly roll quilt is, it is 40 strips of fabric from 40 different fabrics. Or at least that is the way ours were made. All the fabrics were dog related, Paws, bones, etc.
Just all different prints/colors.
This is all 3 of our quils. Lari is on the left, mine is in the middle and Monica is on the right.
Then we gave them a quarter turn and they look so different again, but they are in the Same order.

This is Lari's.

This is mine.

This is Monica's.
They all will have borders when we get finished with them.
THe record for sewing a jelly roll quilt is 35 minutes. I saw that on UTUBE. It definitely took us longer, but they went together really fast.
Hope you enjoy.
